Protein Subfamilies (IMAGE)
Caption
The 21-member Dpr and 9-member DIP subfamilies of Ig proteins interact specifically with one another. The molecular basis for their interactions lies in their hydrophobic interfaces and these interactions control nervous system development and synaptic connectivity at the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) and the optic lobe.
