New Gene Therapy Method Improves Vision in Mice with Congenital Blindness

Concepts of gene supplementation therapy and mutation replacement therapy. In gene supplementation therapy, new wildtype copies of the entire gene are added to the diseased cells. In mutation replacement therapy, mutation is locally excised and replaced with a wildtype sequence.
