Organoids are clusters of cultured cells self-organized into miniature replicas of organs. In this image, neural progenitor cells (NPCs) are green. As the brain organoids increase in size, multi-layer structures composed of NPCs develop with intermediate progenitors (not shown) and cortical layer neurons (red). Cell nuclei are depicted in blue.
