Launching Floats into the Ross Sea (VIDEO)

Two New York Air National Guard loadmasters deploy an ALAMO float from an LC-130 airplane over the Ross Sea in Antarctica. The float gathered temperature and salinity data from the seabed to the surface, helping to reveal the forces causing the Ross Ice Shelf to melt.
