Hsp90-Tau Protein Complex

Although Hsp90 normally prefers prefolded proteins, it binds Tau proteins, which are responsible for Alzheimer's disease. An international team of scientists led by the Technische Universitaet Muenchen and the Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen has unveiled the molecular recognition mechanisms that play a role here. This image shows the Hsp90-Tau protein complex (light blue: Hsp90, orange: tau-protein).
