Light upconversion (IMAGE) Kyushu University Caption A newly developed molecular system in the glass tube on the right efficiently upconverts visible light even from typical LEDs into ultraviolet light through triplet-triplet annihilation. Developed by researchers at Kyushu University, the system achieves an upconversion efficiency of 20% under high-intensity light, doubling previous records, while also being relatively efficient even under weak light.
