A Tale of Genetic Parasites and Their Tails (IMAGE)
Caption
New research shows that the poly(A) tail on a LINE-1 RNA (top) is essential to allow it to interact with Orf2p protein and 'jump' into the DNA. Other genetic 'parasites' (middle and bottom) also use their own poly(A) tails to do the same.
