Immunofluorescence microscopy of B. burgdorferi infected fed nymph midguts. Spirochetes (green) were visualized by indirect immunofluorescence microscopy using polyclonal antibodies against B. burgdorferi and tick epithelial cells (magenta) were stained with wheat germ agglutinin-Alexa Fluor 594.
