Enhanced Water Dissociation (IMAGE) University of Oregon Caption Research in a University of Oregon chemistry lab has advanced the effectiveness of the catalytic water dissociation reaction in bipolar membranes. A three-member team used a membrane-electrode assembly where the polymer bipolar membrane is compressed between two rigid porous electrodes, allowing them to make a large number of bipolar membranes with different water dissociation catalyst layers.
