A movie showing the activation of fluorescently labelled RAPTOR (an mTORC1 subunit) following the addition of amino acids. The left panel shows cells in which the cell medium was replaced without providing amino acids. The middle panel shows the rapid appearance of bright spots identifying activated mTORC1, following the addition of amino acids. The right panel shows inhibition of mTORC1 activation in response to amino acids by concanamycin A. Display is at 15 frames per second.
