Charles Brenner, Ph.D., professor and DEO of biochemistry at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, and colleague Bo-Kuan Wu, Ph.D., found that KRAS activation silences expression of the TET1 enzyme, which lead to DNA hypermethylation that silences tumor suppressor genes. The study was published Nov. 26 in Cell Reports.
