Using a fluorescence microscope, research scientist Dr. Xiuying Li observes the process of using an ultrashort laser pulse to activate ultra-photosensitive nanovesicles to release molecules. A fluorescence microscope uses fluorescence and phosphorescence instead of or in addition to scattering, reflection, attenuation or absorption to study the properties of organic and inorganic substances.
