Tests by UConn Chemists Show E-Cigarettes Are Potentially as Harmful as Tobacco Cigarettes when It C (IMAGE)
Caption
The results of tests conducted by UConn chemists show that nicotine electronic cigarettes are equivalent, if not slightly worse, than unfiltered (nf) tobacco cigarettes when it comes to causing DNA damage. Non-nicotine (nn) e-cigarettes cause damage similar to filtered tobacco cigarettes. The amount of relative DNA damage is reflected by the intensity of the color in each circle with brighter colors reflecting more damage.
