UV Light Splits Nitrogen Atoms (IMAGE)
Caption
Pairs of nitrogen atoms are more likely to be split by UV light from the Sun and other sources if one or both are the heavier isotope nitrogen-15. In this experiment those heavier atoms combined with hydrogen to form ammonia.
