The house dust mite may be a foe to anyone suffering from indoor allergies, but only about two dozen of the thousands of proteins making up the tiny bug actually trigger allergic reactions. A new technique shows that these sniffle-packing proteins share a combination of stability and abundance, properties that may help researchers spot other likely allergens in the environment.
