Newly Discovered Mechanism of GPCR Signalling at the Trans-Golgi Network (IMAGE)
Caption
Upon binding of a hormone (TSH), the receptor is taken up by the cell (internalization) and transported to the TGN, where it induces local cAMP production and PKA activation. These events appear critical to induce new gene transcription in the nucleus, which ultimately mediates the effects of the hormone on the cell.
