CU-Boulder physics Professors Jamie Nagle and and Edward Kinney are part of a team involved with the PHENIX detector used to help physicists analyze particle collisions in a giant atom smasher known as the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York. The team recently used the machine to produce the hottest temperature ever recorded in the universe, 7.2 trillion degrees F.
