Animation: "Nanocage" Tool Untangling and Holding a Polymer (VIDEO)

This 17-second animation shows a new tool--called a "nanocage"--that can catch and straighten out molecule-sized tangles of polymers. It works a bit like pulling a wad of thread through a needle hole--opening a new way to create custom materials that have never been made before.
