The highest proportion of resistance was reported by countries in southern and eastern Europe and in the Baltic, whereas countries in northern and central parts of Europe reported lower resistance levels.
When the level of resistance to an antibiotic (e.g. Ciprofloxacin) in Campylobacter from humans is above 70 percent, it can no longer be regarded as effective treatment.
