Hannele Ruohola-Baker, professor of biochemistry at the University of Washington School of Medicine, describes the discovery of a genetic mutation that is linked to some forms of Sudden Infant Death Syndromes. The mutation prevents infants from processing the lipids in milk and results in heart failure.
