Experience-Dependent Reorganization (VIDEO)
Caption
In the mature visual cortex, similar modular patterns of activity (white) are observed when the same orientation is shown to the left or right eye. In contrast, early in development, markedly different patterns of activity are observed for the same stimulus, resulting in a monocular mismatch that reflects misalignment of the orientation representations from the two eyes.
