Enabling 'Internet of Photonic Things' with Miniature Sensors (VIDEO)

A team led by Lan Yang of Engineering & Applied Science has made two successful measurements using a photonic-based wireless sensor. The sensor, which belongs to a category called whispering gallery mode resonators, is not subject to electromagnetic interference and are smaller and generally more flexible than the currently electronics-based technology.
