Human Dendritic Cells in Leprosy (IMAGE)
Caption
The presence of dendritic cells in human leprosy lesions correlates with a potent cell-mediated immune response, greater in the tuberculoid than lepromateous form of leprosy. Shown here is a microscopic image of a dendritic cell in a tuberculoid leprosy lesion, showing co-expression of (labeled in red) the intracellular receptor NOD2 and cell surface IL-32 (labeled in green).
