Researchers at the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering and Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology in Delhi are exploring the information flow involved in collective animal behaviors like swarming. Using robotic replicas, live zebrafish and new experimental protocols, dynamical systems theory, and behavioral quantification tools, they hope to develop a new approach to measuring animal behavior.
