Mouse tumor organoids show features of early stage lung cancer (IMAGE)
Caption
This image series shows two lung organoids made from mouse lung cells (a large one at center, and small one at upper right). Only 7 days after turning on the KRAS oncogene (indicated in green), some organoid cells had lost molecular markers of mature, differentiated lung cells (shown by decreased red staining). Some had also gained markers of early lung development (shown in white), indicative of changes that occur very early in lung cancer.
