Satellite imagery captures a massive bloom of microscopic phytoplanktonexploding across the Barents Sea. Among the most abundant organisms in the sea, phytoplankton, scientists find, are able to biologically produce methanol -- and in quantities that could rival or exceed that which is produced on land.
