Abhishek Dhyani, macromolecular science & engineering Ph.D. student, demonstrates use of low interfacial toughness (LIT) coatings in the North Campus Research Complex on North Campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., on April 15, 2019.

The coatings help shed ice effortlessly from large surfaces and could be used for such surfaces such as cargo ships, airplanes, power lines, wind turbines, oil rigs, and commercial buildings.
