Arabidopsis in the Snow

Arabidopsis during a cold period. Researchers have found that different lengths of cold periods are required in different climates before a warm spell can trigger flowering. This prevents plants being 'fooled' by an unseasonal warm week in harsh climates and could point the way to adapting food crops to cope with climate change.
