Detected Squeezed Space (IMAGE) University of California - Berkeley Caption As the Earth rotates every 24 hours, the orientation of the ions in the quantum computer/detector changes with respect to the Sun's rest frame. If space were squeezed in one direction and not another, the energies of the electrons in the ions would have shifted with a 12-hour period.
