Dr. Burton English, a professor in the UT Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, examines pots of greenhouse-started switchgrass that were used as part of biofuel feedstock production research conducted by UT AgResearch. English will lead a new three-year project funded by the Federal Aviation Administration to analyze the technology and markets required to progress feedstock through supply chains to US biorefineries to produce alternative jet fuels.
