Structure of Prefusion F Glycoprotein from RSV (IMAGE)
Caption
In 2013, Jason McLellan and his colleagues determined the molecular structure of RSV's F glycoprotein in the prefusion conformation (the shape it takes before the virus infects a cell). This enabled them to rationally re-engineer the protein to create a potent new vaccine against RSV.
