This image depicts the human papillomavirus (HPV) transcript landscape in a human cervical cancer. Each line segment depicts a unique sequencing read, the sum of which indicates the expression levels of each gene. HPV-active cervical cancers are characterized by robust expression of the HPV E6 and E7 oncogenes, as seen by the number of aligned sequencing reads.
