The top image shows auditory melody is principally processed in the bilateral auditory cortex, with neural oscillations operating in the broad Alpha range (5-18 Hz). The bottom image shows, on the contrary, internal temporal predictions are represented in the left-lateralized sensorimotor cortex, with neural oscillations operating in the Beta (18-24 Hz) range.
