VnaChtBP protects fungus against degradation by plant chitinases. Micrographs of Trichoderma viride germinating spores, preincubated at room temperature for 2 h with 3 μM VnaChtBP followed by the addition of xylem sap (chitinase at 19 U/mg of total protein) from Verticillium nonalfalfae-infected hop, were taken 24 h after treatment.
