As a graduate student at the University of Chicago, Connie Rockosi played a key scientific role in launching the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Project to map a quarter of the sky in the late 1990s. She is now an assistant professor in astronomy and astrophysics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Clare Boothe Luce Fellowships, funded by the Luce Foundation, will help attract more women of extraordinary scientific caliber to the University of Chicago.
