Currents Movie (VIDEO)
Caption
The movie shows a close-up area of the global climate model. A scenario with constant carbon dioxide (left) at pre-industrial levels is compared with a scenario in which carbon dioxide increases 1 percent per year, starting in 1860, until it doubles its initial value. The results, shown for the years 2060 to 2100, show that higher carbon dioxide decreases the volume of high-oxygen water (red) entering the Laurentian channel through the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
