Compound in Licorice Interrupts Sex Steroid Production

The licorice compound isoliquiritigenin (iso) interferes with several steps (orange arrows) in the chemical pathway that leads to the production of steroid sex hormones, a new study finds. The research was done in mouse reproductive tissues.
