Stephanie Cone, a Ph.D. student in the joint biomedical engineering program at NC State and UNC, examines MR images of pig knees. Cone is the lead author of a paper describing how the knees of pigs compare to human knees at various stages of maturity -- work that will advance research on injury treatment in young people.
