UMass Amherst researchers recently provided stronger evidence than ever before to support their claim that the microbe <i>Geobacter</i> produces tiny electrical wires, called microbial nanowires, along which electric charges propagate just as they do in carbon nanotubes, a highly conductive man-made material.
