Caption

Galaxy MACS1149-JD1 located 13.28 billion light-years away imaged with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. The first zoom shows how the galaxy was observed with the ESO VLT centered on a rectangular slit. The final zoom shows the Hubble image with contours of ionized oxygen detected by ALMA.
