Tiny bark beetles have killed millions of acres of forest in North America, prompting research such as at the University of Nevada, Reno where scientists have developed a technology for enzyme production based on their bark beetle research. The technology has resulted in a start up company to market a more cost-effective method of producing chemical compounds for pesticide and insect attractant.
