This shows the extent of ecosystem disturbance across the Western US from 2000 to 2012. Blue shows the cumulative ecosystem area affected by fires, while red shows insect damage. The ecosystem disturbance is superimposed on NEON eco-climatic domains (green polygons) and NEON project sites (points).
