Chemists Are Designing New Ways to Synthesize and Test New Drug Candidates

Assistant Professor Hiroaki Itoh operates lab equipment. Researchers at the University of Tokyo are using new methods to address the global health threat of drug resistance and build new antibiotics to kill the superbug MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). The researchers said they will "try to find the improvements that natural selection did not make yet."
