Can you find an elephant in the picture? How about a red and white umbrella? If you looked for those items, you used the pre-supplementary motor area of your brain. New research from WVU's Shuo Wang shows that the pre-SMA contributes to goal-directed behavior by signaling goal detection and time elapsed since the start of a search.
