FDA Approves Scalpel-free Treatment for Parkinson's Disease Tremor

Jeff Elias, M.D., a neurosurgeon at the University of Virginia Health System, led clinical trials that demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of focused ultrasound for treating medication-resistant Parkinson's disease. The FDA has now approved the scalpel-free surgery for the condition.
