Palpation Capsule Demo

The wireless palpation capsule, held in the gripper of a laparoscope, is tapped against a piece of silicone containing red marbles that simulate hidden tumors. Tapping the capsule in different areas builds up a map of tissue stiffness shown on the computer display that reveal the position of the marbles.
