A poly(1,3-dioxolane)-based quasi-solid electrolyte for sodium metal batteries was prepared by in situ polymerization, and the crucial roles of FEC toward forming a stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) and preventing interfacial side reactions were demonstrated.
