Decoding the Proton’s Response to an External Electromagnetic Field (IMAGE)

A beam of electrons (e-) scatters from a proton (the sphere with two “up” quarks in red and one “down” quark in green) with enough energy to produce a photon (γ ). This exposes the proton’s internal structure to the electromagnetic field of the photon.
