Particles Pick Pair Partners Differently in Small Nuclei

Tritium is an isotope of hydrogen whose nucleus contains one proton and two neutrons. The protons and neutrons in tritium can make two different short-range correlation pairs: a proton and a neutron, or one pair of the two neutrons.
