sFIDA measuring principle (IMAGE) Heinrich-Heine University Duesseldorf Caption The sFIDA measuring principle: A glass surface is coated with capture antibodies, which bind to specific amino acids of the α-synuclein protein. The capture antibodies then bind with both individual α-synuclein molecules and aggregates thereof. Detection antibodies containing a fluorescent pigment which only bind to aggregates are also applied to the mix. Detection antibodies bound to aggregates can be visualized via the fluorescent pigment that emits a characteristic colored light when exposed to light. This can then be detected under a fluorescence microscope. Credit HHU/Anja Schaffrath and Erdem Gültekin Tamgüney Usage Restrictions No restrictions.
